Two speakers will discuss the Proposed Coal Plant in Surry at Cypress Point. In support of the plant - David Hudgins, Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) and the Association of Electric Cooperatives In opposition - Christine Llewellyn, MD, Director, Williamsburg Climate Action Network The public is welcome to attend and submit written questions. Tuesday, April 20, 2010	7:00 pm	City Council Chambers, Stryker Building, Williamsburg (Stryker is next to the Williamsburg Library)	Candidates Night for City Council in Williamsburg. League sponsored forum for the five candidates running for the city council in the May 4 election. Moderator will be Patricia Albert, LWVWA board member. First part of program will be questions from the moderator; the second part will be written questions from the audience.
Saturday, May 1, 2010	9:00 am - 3:00 pm	Lynchburg, Virginia	State Council Meeting. LWV of Virginia holds the state council for 2010 in Lynchburg. (Note: National Conventions of the LWV are held in even years; State Conventions in odd years. In lieu of a state convention in the odd years, the council convenes for one day.) Tuesday, May 4, 2010	6:00 am to 7:00 pm	Williamsburg	May 4 City Council Elections!. Voters in the City of Williamsburg will select two council members from a field of five candidates. VOTE!!

Thursday, May 6, 2010	8:00 am to 3:00 pm	State Capitol, Richmond	A Day to Tour the Capitol. Join us for a tour of the capitol and other state buildings in Richmond. Lunch will be at a Richmond restaurant, followed by additional tour sites in the afternoon. Further details tba. But for now, put this on your calendar!

Wednesday, June 2, 2010	5:00 - 7:00 pm	Port Anne Clubhouse, Port Anne Community in the City of Williamsburg	2010 Annual Meeting. Join us for the Annual Meeting - this year on a Wednesday. Brief Business Meeting at 5:00; then a speaker tba. Followed by a Wine and Hors d'oeuvres Social Hour!
